The B&W 683 is the largest set of main speakers in Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) affordable high-end 600 series of home audio speakers. These large floorstanding speakers are ideal for a hi-fi or home cinema system in a large room.
A pair of 6.5" aluminum/paper/Kevlar cones with rigid mushroom design and front firing flowport provide a deep and dynamic bottom end with plenty of power. The 6" woven Kevlar cone is dedicated to midrange and the incorporated fixed centre bullet helps smooth the response into upper frequencies. This Kevlar midrange is the only cone in the entire 600 series to incorporate FST technology, which essentially uses a foam ring allowing the cone to float freely for an improved cone response. There is a 1" aluminum dome tweeter located in the top of the cabinet, which handles the high frequencies. The tweeter is contained in a Nautilus tapering tube, which is designed to only project sound through a hollow pole magnet frontwards, and is tapered towards the rear to eliminate reflections off the rear of the cabinet producing unwanted sound effects

The B&W 683 is the largest set of main speakers in Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) affordable high-end 600 series of home audio speakers. These large floorstanding speakers are ideal for a hi-fi or home cinema system in a large room.
A pair of 6.5" aluminum/paper/Kevlar cones with rigid mushroom design and front firing flowport provide a deep and dynamic bottom end with plenty of power. The 6" woven Kevlar cone is dedicated to midrange and the incorporated fixed centre bullet helps smooth the response into upper frequencies. This Kevlar midrange is the only cone in the entire 600 series to incorporate FST technology, which essentially uses a foam ring allowing the cone to float freely for an improved cone response. There is a 1" aluminum dome tweeter located in the top of the cabinet, which handles the high frequencies. The tweeter is contained in a Nautilus tapering tube, which is designed to only project sound through a hollow pole magnet frontwards, and is tapered towards the rear to eliminate reflections off the rear of the cabinet producing unwanted sound effects
